Commemorating the 16-Day Campaign of Activism to end Gender Based Violence

In the aspect to join and commemorate the 16-day Campaign, we members of Mwanamke na Uongozi made the journey to Mbagala Mbande with several other groups that accompanied us to the event.

We moved house to house, prayer houses and even among people along the street to question and find out on their knowledge in regards to the 16 day campaign against female gender mistreatment and denial of their rights especially along the leadership perspectives. This event was carried out from 8th December to 10th December, 2017.

Mwanamke na Uongozi, we decided to embark on the journey towards extending this knowledge to the people of Mbagala towards ending gender based violence among the female gender. Along these foot lines Mwanamke na Uongozi has gradually continued to teach the women ways how to combat and fight domestic violence and denial of the rights respectively.

On 8th December we managed to travel to three wards/streets; Chamanzi Mbagala talking to the ladies and women there about how gender based violence has created a wall against their aims to become leaders of tomorrow and how to overcome such arrears.

The second street was Kisewe where we managed to convey the same message and the response towards the topic at bay was quite resounding, the last and final street was Kiponza Mbande where we were joined by the Local Council Chairman alongside other leaders.

The last street was Mwembe Bamia, where we had the same talk and instigated seeds of wisdom about gender based violence and how to uphold and fight for tomorrow’s girl child so as to enable her claim the rightful position amongst the leaders of the next generation.
